For me, homebuilding is more than a business—it's a mission rooted in a powerful personal journey.
Having grown up along the U.S./Mexican border, I understand the profound value of homeownership. I vividly remember families running across our yard with luggage in hand, soaked from crossing the Rio Grande, in search of a new life, a new home.
When I was 10, I watched my hard-working father hand over the keys to his beloved truck just to pay that month's rent. My heart is heavy with memories of us packing hastily to move again to the next place we'd rent. Always moving. My parents came to the United States from Mexico with nothing, and worked hard to raise the five of us. I am grateful for how rich we were in family values, which made all of our dwellings feel like happy homes...even though we never had a house of our own.
My wife and I finally bought our first home in Marshall, Wisconsin when I was 28. I wouldn't trade the memories in this house for anything in the world. Watching the kids play in the backyard, Christmas mornings, family dinners. I want more people to experience that.
This perspective drives my commitment to building not just houses, but lasting homes for people in our community. I am no expert in construction, but I am an expert in building the right team. I learned this from my football coaches in Texas. I sacrifice profit for expertise, and I invest heavily in top-tier design and construction professionals. This allows us to create beautiful, premium spec homes that meet high quality standards. In addition to our luxury projects, we are bringing more affordable options for families in the lower-to-median price point, as we believe everyone deserves the joy of owning their own home. The Angelica farmette stands as the first in L.A. Sterling's legacy of premium homes.
The process started a year before the first shovel hit the ground. The LA Sterling standard called for scrapping the first house plan we drew up and stamped. And even with the current plan, we actually flipped the whole house position so that the garage would not block the amazing view and sunset. And boy does the sunset twilight repaint the interior thru the oversized Pella patio doors, every day.
The genuine hardwood throughout is like built-in art. Giant 100 year old maple columns welcome you right at the entrance. Every window sill is ancient barn dried black walnut, which waited 15 years alone in the builder's personal timber collection, HAND SELECTED just for this house!
Angelica's layout invites the family to stay close. 3 of the 4 rooms are on the main level, and a back covered porch big enough for the whole family to sit TOGETHER and watch storms, as I loved doing with my family back when.

He takes his work very seriously… almost as seriously as he takes his tacos. And if you’ve ever had his tacos, you know that’s saying something. Luis designs with the future buyer in mind, obsessing over how a space will live long after the final walkthrough.
